Icehouse Canyon Snowshoeing

Saturday, January 23, 2010

Near Mt. Baldy, Angeles National Forest (45 minutes from L.A.). After a full week of 4 consecutive storms that dropped 3.5 inches of rain on L.A., it had all blown out early this morning. Scott and I had first tracks all the way up. Hardly saw another person. 3-5 feet of light fluffy powder, more in some places. We took a sled up and had some fun on the way down, but skis would have been ideal. High 30s all day. Parked at 4900 ft., topped out around 8400 ft. A couple of photos Scott took at the end.
